The Everything ABCs Blog Hop Featuring the Letter Q

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter Q. This may be the name
of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has
chosen as their Q element will be featured in their post.
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog.
If you came from Elizabeth's blog then you're on the right track!

What represents the letter "Q" in my CTMH world?? Today it is the new "Quick" Cards - Bright All Night Hostess Reward stamp set. You have got to love these new stamp sets exclusive to hostesses!!
The card base is the CTMH White cards and envelopes. I used a sky card stock mat followed by another mat using the Sarita paper pack. I tied a bow using the Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon. I stamped the image using black ink. I used a little bit of glue around the trees and sprinkled it with Prisma Glitter however I could not get it to show up on the picture.  I added two light blue sparkles but the lighting didn't pick them up.
I again used the CTMH white cards and envelopes. I used a different patterned paper from the Sarita paper packet. I tied a bow using retired CTMH ribbon. For this card I stamped the image twice, in black and sky ink. I cut out the black negative space and used 3-D foam to adhere it on top of the sky blue image to give it the blue sky background. I again used the Prisma Glitter to add sparkle and an snow effect around the tree. I really like the many ways you can use this stamp set.

Your next stop on our Everything ABC'S blog Hop is "Linda's of Scrappy Therapy.

Here is the complete lineup in case you get lost along the way :)

Capturing Moments of a Cheer Leading Daughter

I ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY can't get enough of the new Artbooking cartridge. It's that time of the year. Children activities are under way. My daughter decided she wanted to cheer lead and she is enjoying every minute as I am enjoying taking pictures.

I went to the Artbooking cart knowing I could quickly make a layout. I love how both layouts turned out!!

I used White Daisy card stock for the base page and Outdoor Denim for the photo mats. The photos are surrounded by the cute photo mats on pg 74 using the Photo Mat 1 key. The "score" embellishment was cut out from pg 83 using the Title key. The pendant was cut from pg 77 using the Border key. I put card stock behind the opening of the pendant and bows on the photo mat. I did some random stamping using Outdoor Denim and Holiday Red Ink (retired)around the edges of the layout. I added a few cheer stickers I had in my stash as well as the stars that came from the negative space in the score title.
This layout took a matter of minutes to cut. The card stock used is Ruby, Colonial White and Outdoor Denim. I did some random stamping using white daisy ink along the edges. I cut a half overlay from page 83 using the Shift Lock > Overlay key. I added ruby card stock to the back of the overlay to make some of the stars pop. The photo mat was cut from pg 79 using the Photo Mat 1 key. I used 2 of the dimensional elements and stamped them using the Artbooking stamp set and another retired campaign stamp set for the inside blue arrow. I used Holiday Red Ink (retired) and Outdoor Denim on the arrows.

You too can have fun using Artbooking. I would love for you to shop with me!! Thanks for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!

Artbooking in August #4

Are you ready to get creative??  Let 40 talented CTMH consultants inspire you with their creativity this month. Each Monday in August, these ladies will be posting artwork to their blogs and you do not want to miss it!! (subscribe via email to ensure you don't miss the action).

We have been challenged to create 4 different projects using the new CTMH Cricut Artbooking cartridge and any CTMH paper pack.  ( yes - we all have retired paper packs in our 'stuff' and this cartridge is perfect for using up paper!!)  Stop back each Monday in August to see what I have created. Each week you will see one of the follow designed items:
1. 2 page layout
2. Card
3. Mini Book
4. Home decor or giftable item

If you came from Marie's blog you are on the right track.

I can't believe the last Monday in August is already here!! This month has gone by way to fast but I had a blast sharing some fun things you can create using the new Artbooking cartridge. My final project is a mini album using Laughing Lola. I can't begin to explain how easy it is using this cart. It is fool proof!!
This is the cover. I set my dial at 8 and began to cut. The pages through out the album were cut from pages 48 & 49 which is the 8x3.5 Love Mini Album. I wanted the cover to stand out so I have a picture mat as well as I thought some texture would be nice so I used the "Dream Pop"(retired) paper pack for the overlay. Using page 48 I used the title, photo mat 1, overlay key.
The left page I used the border cut from page 49. I cut the notebook paper using Overlay from page 42 and stamped the lines using the Artbooking stamp set using black ink. This is a fun journaling spot. The right side I used pg 48 Shift Lock > Photo Mat 1 which is this cute envelope which opens up. I am thinking a confidential love note can be put in here. I cut out the heart using the Shift Lock > Border key. I cut the "notes" sentiment from pg 44 Title key. The heart comes from the inside of another cut.
I used the strip from the Laughing Lola paper on the left page. I added the cute "I <3 U" word bubble using the Title key on pg 78. On the right side the photo mats are from pg 49 using the Icon key.
I added two photo mats to the left side page and the inside piece from the "I <3 U" word bubble in the previous picture. The right side I added a border from pg 48 using this funky fun patterned side of this paper.
I added photo mats to both pages. I cut out butterflies from my Martha Stewart punch and but a bitty sparkle in the center of the largest butterfly. I used pg 49 Title key to cut the "Sweet" banner and pg 61 for the heart shape using the Icon key.
The left side I used pg 74 Shift Lock > Photo Mat 2 keys. It was a little bigger then I anticipated but if fit since this page had a funky shape which is larger at the top of the page. I love the right side page with the word "love" cut out. I used pg 41 to help me decorate it. The film strip was cut using the Border key. The sun shape with the heart was cut using the Icon and Shift Lock > Icon key.  The green arrow came from pg 79 using the Title key.
I added photo mats to both pages. The banner flags with the heart center are form pg 61 Shift Lock > Icon key. I add a bitty sparkle to the center of each flag. I used the flower from pg 48 Shift Lock > Icon key. I added the heart from the center piece from a cut out on one of the other pages. The heart trees on the right side is cut from pg 49 using Shift Lock > Overlay key.
The left side I added a photo mat. The arrow was cut from pg 79 using the Title key. The flag behind the photo mat was cut from pg  44 using the Shift Lock, Icon key. How cute are these little flags??!! The "2 of a kind" cut is from pg. 78. The photo mat of the right side came from me cutting the image on pg 44 Photo Mat 2 however it was too big so I used the inside piece and put a flower in the center.
I decided to keep this blank without any embellishment because I really like the heart shape. I figured I could always go back add if I changed my mind.
I added a photo mat, the arrow, flag and two hearts from the inside cut of other embellishments in previous pictures
Last but not least the final pages. I love the overlay on the right side cut from pg. 49.
I hope you enjoyed my mini album.

Flower Pot Card

It's a beautiful day outside and I decided to open the windows, let in some fresh air and craft. I have wanted to make a flower pot card for quite some time however never got around to doing it. TODAY was the day!!
It's a beautiful day as I look out my dining room window.
This project was created using products from the Laughing Lola Card Making kit. This is the inside card which slides out from the pot. The black cardstock is cut at 2 1/2 x 4 1/2. The center white daisy cardstock is cut at 2 1/4 x 4 1/4 and placed in the center of the black cardstock. I used the Laughing Lola Card Making WOTG stamp set for the sentiment using black and lagoon ink.

The flowers are cut using the new CTMH Artbooking cricut cartridge. I cut a total of 6 flower images 3 base flowers and 3 inside flowers. The flowers were cut at Real Dial Size 1 3/4, page 48 using the Shift Lock >Icon > q key and Icon > q key. I layered the flowers using 3-D foam tape. The leaves were cut using page 60 Shift Lock > Icon > d key. I inked the edges of the flower using lagoon, black and pear ink for the leaves. I embellished the center using bitty sparkles
This is the finished flower pot. I love how it came out. The black base is cut at 9 x 3 1/2 and scored at 2 and 5 1/2. I folded and used my scallop punch on the 2 inch flap. I cut both sides of the paper at an angle to get the look of a flower pot. I put a piece of 3 x 3 1/2 patterned paper on top of the base and turned it around to trim off the excess paper. I used a piece of ribbon (non CTMH) around the pot and bitty sparkles on every other scallop.

Artbooking in August #3

Are you ready to get creative??  Let 40 talented CTMH consultants inspire you with their creativity this month. Each Monday in August, these ladies will be posting artwork to their blogs and you do not want to miss it!! (subscribe via email to ensure you don't miss the action).

1. 2 page layout
2. Card
3. Mini Book
4. Home decor or giftable item

If you came from Marie's blog you are on the right track.

I made these fun back to school gifts for my girls. The 3-D items were cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge set at Fit To Page and the cuts decorating the items were made using a combination of the new Artbooking cart and stamps.
I used the School is Here stamp set to make the crayon border.  Outdoor denim, topiary and holiday red ink (retired) were my inks of choice for the crayons. black ink was used for the sentiment "School is Here". The hello name tag was cut using Artbooking page 68. My daughters name is hand written by me. The numbers are from the border I cut out in my below creation. I used White Daisy, Ruby and Honey card stock.
This 3-D shape was cut using outdoor denim cardstock. The border was cut from Artbooking page 69. I cut out this cute apple on the same page using the Icon key. The notebook paper was cut from page 42 using the overlay key. I drew the lines by hand however if you cut it at 4" there is the perfect stamp that coordinates which will give you perfect lines that comes with the Artbooking bundle. I also stamped the "you're a star" using the same bundle stamp set. The school bus and crayon were stamped using the School is Here stamp set. I love how both projects came out and can't wait to put some goodies in it and have it waiting for my girls when they get up for breakfast on their first day back to school which is next week :-)

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop Featuring The Letter P

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter "P". This may be the name
of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has
chosen as their "P" element will be featured in their post.
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Janna's Blog
If you came from Linda's Blog then you're on the right track!

My letter "P" stands for Penquin. I adore our new Hostess Reward stamp sets. I am a big Happy Feet fan so these penguins on the Wintry Wishes stamp set make my day. Are you wondering how you can get this stamp set?? Host a gathering and use your select product credit earned on exclusive stamp sets only available through January 2014.
The new Sarita paper pack was used to create my cards. The new Artbooking cricut cartridge assisted me in making this cute bow which has a little bitty sparkle right in the center. The bow was cut from page 61 Shift Lock >Border > F. I free hand cut the banner the sentiment is stamped on. To make the window I simply used a large circle punch I had. I then punched the same exact circle in white and stamped the image. I colored it using Spectrum Noir markers.
Here you can see the card from a angle where it is closed. I used 3-D foam tape under the banner to give it some dimension.

Here you can see different angles of the card.
This card was fun to make. I again used the Sarita paper packet along with the Color Ready Seam Binding Ribbon. I love that I can make the ribbon any color I like using the different ink pads to coordinate with the paper. For this card I colored the ribbon with Lagoon Ink using a piece of my round sponge.  I placed the ribbon down the center of the card and adhered the pattern paper on top. I tied a bow near the bottom of the card. I cut out a photo mat with scallop edges using the Artbooking cartridge page 59 using Shift Lock > Photo Mat 1 > S. I used the 3-D foam tape behind the photo mat and the stamped image. I randomly stamped snowflakes around the image using Gypsy and Lagoon Ink and adhered bitty sparkles to the center of the snow flakes.
I hope you enjoyed my cards. I love comments so leave me some love and Happy Crafting!!

Artbooking in August #2

I created a few cards made with different elements from the Artbooking cricut cartridge.
I used a Joy Fold card to have fun with the new Babycakes paper packet. I used Artbooking to cut out this cute lion on page 51 using the Icon button. I added some googly eyes and a wobble behind it so it can jiggle and hold the top card in place. The monkey, vine and sentiment was stamped using the Wild Wonders Occasion stamp set.
This is how the card looks when it is open. I again used the stamp set along with the Babycakes complements "My Baby" sticker to go in the center.
I really like the colors in the new Huntington paper packet. I used the overlay on page 72. The sentiment came from the Unscripted Everyday Life stamp set and the AP cart to cut out the shape. I sprayed it with gold shimmer mist around the leaves but I couldn't capture it well in the picture.
I also used the Unscripted stamp set to complete the inside of the card picture above. I used blush, vineyard berry and olive ink on the flower.

This card was fun to make. I used the Later Sk8r paper packet (retired) to complete. The Artbooking, Take Note Cricut bundle stamp set came in handy. I used the cart to cut out the arrow as well as the note book paper. The notebook paper shape came from page 42 using the overlay button and the arrow from page 79 using the borders button. For the arrow I cut out the paper and stamped the image then placing the image over the dimensional element arrow that came with the bundle. When you are looking for a way to use them this one way.

If you came from Marie's blog you are on the right track.

Are you ready for my unveil?? Here you have it my fun and fabulous creation focusing on scrapbook pages that can be created using ARTBOOKING!!.

This layout is special. My friend Jo-Jo and I have so much fun when we are together. We were at a scrapbook crop in 2011 and my friends always laugh at me for having the phone either to my ear or using my thumbs to text. I used Chantilly paper(retired). I used pg 59 for the overlay, pg 76 for the photo mats, pg 79 for the arrow and "buddies"sentiment. I used the coordinating stamp set "Take Note Cricut Bundle" to stamp the arrow with ink. I cut the flower from page 80 and outline it with glitter. The Pembelry WOTG stamp set came in handy as I put a border around the layout using Juniper ink. I love how it came out. Simple piecing of different cuts using Artbooking.

This is a pic of my boyfriend and I. I wasn't sure I was going to use it since our heads are cut off but I like how I look in the pic so I went for it. This layout was created only using CTMH card stock. I used pg 60 for all of the cuts..the overlay, 5x7 mat and the "Together" title. I placed sparkles at the tip of each letter. To make the hearts pop I put smoothie card stock behind them and washi tape on opposite corners of the picture.

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter "O". This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their "O" element will be featured in their post.
If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Traci Williams ~ Paper Crafting 101.

My later "O" represents "Owl". I decided to use some new CTMH products!! I played with the new Artbooking cricut cartridge and Laughing Lola paper. I have been busy creating with this paper lately. I used a combination of cuts on page 84 & 85 to create. You can't see the dimension but I used 3-D foam tape on the owl and sparkles for the eyes. I hand doodled the stitching around the border of the paper using CTMH gold metallics marker.

CTMH New Product Blog Hop Autumn/Winter 2013 Idea Book

I can't put in words how THRILLED I am about Close To My Hearts new Autumn/Winter Idea Book. There are so many wonderful new products that will be sure to get you creating!!!

What is so special about this Blog Hop you may ask???....You will have the opportunity to experience the creative minds of many FAB consultants who are taking you on a journey, showing you how the new product is being used!!

Without further ado....I created an Altered Clipboard using the new CTMH Laughing Lola paper packet. I just fell in love with the colors! As I journeyed through the Dollar Store my cart came to a halt when I saw a clip board staring at me, requesting a little bit of attention. (Darn it I forgot to take a picture before I covered it but you get the idea).
I covered the surface using our black card stock along with Elmer's Craft Bond spray adhesive to keep it secure.

I decided I wanted it to hang in my office at work so I used my favorite subject matter...MY PRINCESSES!!! I cut down the pictures and matted them on this pretty B&T paper.
I used the new Paisley Perfect Flair stamp set for the sentiment, stamping it in black ink. It's such a cute saying as my princesses are A LOT of SASS!! I also used the new CTMH Artbooking cricut cartridge to cut out these cute stars located on pg 74.
Another stamp set I played with is the one from the Laughing Lola Scrapbooking Workshop. Can you say..AWESOME!! I stamped this flower image a few times and colored it in using Spectrum Noir markers. The colors used are written in the picture. I cut them out by hand and layered them using 3-D foam tape. I also used the Frame Flair stamp set as well which you will see in my final project pictured below.
Here you have it!! My finished Altered Clip Board. I did some layering, used sparkles to add some flair and pretty ribbon to top it off. My project is now hanging on the wall in my office. I hope you enjoyed my project and how I used CTMH products. Ask me how I can help you with all your CTMH needs.
