Crafty Elves Countdown To Christmas August 2023

 Hey Crafty Friends - 

I am beyond excited to be an August Guest Designer for The Crafty Elves!! It was so cool to learn this  group makes Christmas cards each month. Talk about proactive preparation for the upcoming holiday season! 

I chose to use the Close To My Heart, Holiday Express stamp and thin cuts. Since the theme was a train riding to the North Pole, I decided due to the length of the train to go with a slimline card. I love non traditional colors during Christmas so using the Oh What Fun paper collection worked out so well. 

 

Check out how I put this card together:

• I used the Slimline Shaker Window Thin Cut to cut the frame around the card as well as the white glitter paper.  
• I stamped the train, presents and North Pole sign using my misti. I colored each image using Spectrum Noir Tri Blend markers. I love the pink & green color combo. (My sorority colors). 
• I cut out the colored images using the coordinating thin cuts. 
• I assembled all of the images and adhered them to the card base with 3D foam tape. This added some dimension to the card. 
• I created the title piece using the Pale Pink Shades marker. I literally colored a long rectangle and dabbed it with a piece of paper towel I wet with ink blender solution. It resulted in a speckled look as it removed some of the color. I then used black ink to stamp the sentiment.  

Ohh Me, Ohh My...look at these close up pics. Can you see I did a thing and gave the images some flair by adding highlights from a white gel pen.
