Crafting Fun...

I have been busy in my creation station. I used CTMH and Unity Stamp Co. combinations and it was magical. I also made a Holiday gift for the office staff using an idea I saw on Pinterest.

I just love this Unity Stamp Co stamp. It's never to early to think about Valentines day or even giving a card to the special person in your life. I like the correlation between the owl and the sentiment "Owl Be Yours Forever"...how cute. I used CTMH ink and "Sweetheart" paper.

I believe this sentiment is my all time favorite "When life gives you LIMES slice them up and find some tequila!" Sounds like a plan...LOL I cut this card using the CTMH AP cart. I colored in the stamped image and used CTMH Liquid Applique on the rim of the glass to give it a nice 3-D effect

This card uses a heat embossing technique that makes for the ink to resist the clear embossed imagine. I really like how this came out. The technique came from Darlene's Design blog...

Here is a close up so you can hopefully see the texture created by the heat embossing resulting in ink resistance.

Last but not least a fun idea that came from Pinterest. I decided to make this quick gift to give out to the office staff tomorrow. I just love giving out personal hand crafted gifts made by Me of course :-)

Cali Layouts Part 2...

I continue to scrapbook pictures from my trip to my home state, California in March 2012. I went to my grandfathers home going service and while it wasn't the reason I wanted to go back home, it allowed me to revisit with my family so it became a joyous occassion. Below are some scrapbook layouts I completed today. I still have tons more pictures to scrap so more to come.

This is my cousin and her beautiful daughter. I used CTMH cardstock and a piece of B&T paper from the La Belle Vie paper pack. The flowers, greenery and journaling spot were cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. The Dark Chocolate Grosgrain Stripped Ribbon is one of my favorites. I love, love, love the cart. It is a must have in your circut collection.
This is my aunt and the lower picture is my cousin and I. My cousin is on the left and I on the right. I used CTMH Clementine paper for this layout. Again used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge cart to create the journaling space, leaves, flowers and doily.
This is my little cousin. She is the cutest!! I used CTMH Flirty paper for this layout. Again I used the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge to cut the journaling space, butterfly and the frame cut the picture is in. The Sparkles Flourishes was used to capture the movement of the butterfly. I really like how this turned out.

The designs and concepts with some changes came from the CTMH Make It From Your Heart Vol. 1 this is a wonderful how to booklet that gives you great ideas and it is so simple to use.

If you are interested in this products you can shop from my Close To My Heart Website. I love comments let me know what you think :-)

Love Who You Are

I was going through my stamps today and noticed several I purchased because I thought they were sooo cute and I hadn't used them yet. I made two cards using CTMH Fashionista stamp set along with Stella paper. Simple design and cute image. The inside of the card reads "Love Who You Are" which is such a profound statement.

Love Is In The Air

While this isn't 100% CTMH I wanted to share as it's still apart of my crafting. One of my favorite stamp companies outside of CTMH is Unity Stamp Co. They had a great Cyber Monday sale and I loved the stamp set so I had to get it. Below is my creation. This card is so stinking cute. I did use a CTMH stamp for the sentiment as well as the inks. The sentiment stamp set came from the Whooo's Your Valentine CTMH campaign coming soon.

Creating Fun

This past week I completed an assortment of projects I wanted to share with you.

This a mini album I completed for the Scrappin Sista's November Mini Album challenge. This was the first mini album I completed. I learned how to make it from my crafting sista Candi :-) The front, back and spine is made using chipboard. I created the album using La Bella Vie paper from CTMH. The inside is completed using envelopes which was a very interesting concept. The end result was amazing.
Below is a Criss Cross Card and Birthday Tea Light cake. I made both using La Bella Vie paper. I also used the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge to create the banner on the card as well as flowers for the top of the cake. This was created as a gift which I presented to my crafting sista Candi. It was such a fun project she hopefully cherishes for years to come.

Below is a fun gift giving craft my crafting sista Deb taught me how to make. The entire box is made using CTMH Pear & Partridge paper. The intent is for it to hold 4 tea light candles. Tissue paper was stamped and put on the candle using my heat gun. (Please be aware that tissue paper is flamable. This is for design if you burn use caution). I covered a match box and made it look like a present with a bow tied on the top leaving the area exposed to strike a match. I also put a removable ornament on the top of the box. So cute and a fun gift to give to teachers or office stamp in your office.

I created this CTMH bracket frame for a Facebook page I love called SWAG (Sisters With A Goal) Go like it on Facebook. I had fun decorating using CTMH Cotton Candy paper along with White Daisy and Black card stock. The letters were cut using the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge. I also cut the flowers using AP. I hand rolled the flowers and used ink to go around the edges of the white flowers. I used bling and the cute stick pin to add some flair. I absolutely love how it came out.

You can purchase these products using Shalana's CTMH Website. I love comments. Let me know what you think or if you have any questions about the products used.

Cardaholic Mania

This past weekend I saw a few cards that I was interested in recreating. My favorite Holiday card has some PB's on it and they are so stinking cute. You will see all the fun these Polar Bears are having wishing you Happy Holidays. The concept is by Cindy Lawrence who created her card using punches. I created this card using the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cart to cut the circles and ovals.

I also found a pretty simple looking card with Christmas ornament focal points. The ornaments were created using a circle punch. I used different types of CTMH holiday paper as well as a swirly stamp to give you the feel of a hanging ornament.

And here is another with a different type of holiday paper.

This is a fun Thank You card. The design is from CTMH Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 magazine. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy cart to make the flower as well as to cut the sentiment center piece.

I love comments let me know what you think :-)

La Bella Vie & Flirty Cards

I took a few hours out of the day to make a few cards. I have a friend who I am sending the La Bella Vie card to as she is in need of prayers. The concept for the card came from a card I saw on Pinterest where the focal point was putting the sentiment between the patterned paper which I thought was creative.

I used Colonial Cardstock as the base to create this Happy Birthday card. The patterned paper is Flirty along with Desert Sand ink, Color Seam Binding Ribbon and Mocha Opaque Adhesives.

I again used Colonial White Cardstock as the base for this "Just a little Prayer" card. I also used La Belle Vie paper, Smokey Plum and Chocolate Ink, Flutter paper shapes (Butterflies) and Bitty Sparkles.

La Bella Vie Altered Altoid Tin

I participated in a swap and the challenge was to decorate an Altoid Tin. At first I had my reservations about participating as I wasn't sure this would be something I would be into or that I could pull off a nice finished product. I decided to look at a few Youtube videos so I could get some ideas of what people have done with these tins. End result I had fun putting this together.

I used CTMH La Bella Vie paper to decorate this tin. This paper is one of my favorite paper packs in this caddie. I decorated the outside using some embellishments and a flower made using the Artiste cart. I made some stamped images and placed this on the inside. I made an accordion photo or journal area, adhering it to the inside of the tin so it could easily pull out and become interactive.

You can see this can be a nice gift to give to someone and if you already have pictures inserted that would really take the cake.

Let me know what you think...(My sister took the pics I have posted below..sorry I see the bottom one is upside down.....she posted on her FB page as to the wording to show her friends what I made :-)

Fun w/ Dotty & La Bella Vie

I went to a scrapbook crop this weekend and completed the below layouts. I used pictures I took of older pictures my aunt had when I visited California in March. I love the finished product.

I used CTMH "Dotty" paper. (Unfortunately this was a special so you can't purchase this paper anymore). The flowers, leaves and monogram letter was cut using the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge. The frame piece was cut using the CTMH Artiste cricut cartridge. The color combination went well with the black and white photos. The top picture is my aunt on her wedding day. The bottom picture is random and captures the woman she is.

I used CTMH "La Bella Vie" paper. These are pictures of my grandmother in her teen years. I used the CTMH Art Philosophy to cut the triangles to adhere to the chipboard pendants. I thought the color combinations of this paper pack went well with the black and white photos allowing the striped black and white ribbon to be used. I still have to decide what I would like to write in the journaling block.

The following CTMH products were used:
CTMH Artiste Cricut Cart Z1790
CTMH Art Philosophy Cart Z1686
La Bella Vie paper packet X7158B
Black Striped Grosgrain Ribbon Z1781
Embroidery Floss Neutral Assortment Z1096
Bling Assortment Z1466
Dimensional Elements- Banners Z1685
Smokey Plum Ink Z2147
For both layouts the design concepts were taken from the new CTMH "Make it from Your Heart" Volume 1 inspiration publication 9035

Tell me what you think?? I love comments :-)

"You Warm My Heart".....Repetition Technique

I had a FB invite to a Paper Crafts event. As I was reading through the Card Design Handbook Week: Repetition Challenge I saw a cool card I decided to case. The card design was by Joselyn Olson and it focused on repetition which I found to be interesting. I used the technique with a CTMH stamp set. Below is what I came up with....I like it...Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

The below picture shows a close up of the card. I used 3D tape to add dimension to the middle tea cup as well as the sentiment.

California Scrapbook LO's

I started a scrapbook of my time spent in California in March after attending the going home service for my grandfather. While the occasion to go back home wasn't a pleasant one it was wonderful to reconnect with my relatives. Here are some LO's I completed using pictures from my trip home.

This LO was completed using products purchased at a CK scrapbooking convention make & take. I figured I would put this paper to good use.

This is a picture of my cousin and I. I used product purchased to create a make & take LO at the CK Scrapbook convention.

This picture preserves the memories of our trip to Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles. If you have never been there you want to make sure you get an opportunity to dine there in this lifetime. The food is amazing..if you like soul food. I used the new "Flirty" paper pack X7160B and Flirty Complements Dimensional Elements X7160C to complete this LO. Love the colors and my aunts shirt coordinates well with this paper.

Here is another picture capturing the moments at Roscoe's. That is me standing in front of the building. I also made sure I took a picture of my meal. Yes, a lot of food I know but it was yummy and I took a doggie bag home for later.

If you would like to purchase the "Flirty" paper packet and Complements Dimensional Elements you can do so from the below website.

Coaster Fun

I went to a class on how to make coasters. We were instructed to bring our favorite stamps or we could use the instructors. Of course I brought my CTMH stamps. What amazed me is how simple it was to make. The instructor provided the marble tiles, different color staz-on ink pads and an clear acrylic spray...can't forget the felt that goes on the bottom corners to protect table top surfaces.
I used 2 CTMH stamp sets I hadn't used before, CIAO and the MAY stamp of the month FRIENDSHIP BOUQUET.

Look how versatile your CTMH stamp sets are. Talk about some creative christmas gift ideas. Tell me what you think I love comments :-)

"Doggone" Slider Card

I went on Youtube to find a tutorial to make a slider card. My thought of a slider card was the one with an object that would slide back and forth across the card. I happened upon a different type of tutorial and liked what I saw so I tried my hand at it using the "Doggone" stamp set. I will be sending this card out tomorrow to my BF's daughter for her B-Day...hope she likes it :-)

This is the slider card unopened. I used the "Doggone" stamp to make the background for the card.

This view shows the slider pulled up. There are two areas where you can stamp sentiments.

This is the slider pulled up. Isn't the dog so stinking cute!!

"Stella" Scrapbook In A Box

I pinned a very cute idea on my Craft board using Pinterest and when I do this my plan is to make it. It was very simple to make this cute Scrapbook in a Box.

I used "Stella" paper to created this scrapbook in a box. This is the lid of the box. The flowers and leaves were created using the CTMH AP Cricut Cartridge. I outlined the flowers and veins of the leaves using stickles. The lid is 7 1/8 x 7 1/8 and scored at 1.5 inches on all 4 sides and cut and adhered together like a normal lid.

This is the inside of the box laying flat. You will have 9 spaces you can use to show off your pictures or embellishments. I used the AP Cart to cut out this butterfly at 2".

This shows the box open and laying flat. I used 3x3 inch squares in different colored cardstock and patterned paper to decorate. Now the box is ready to put pictures, notes or quotes in. This started off as a 12 x 12 piece of card stock. I scored it at 4 and 8 inches on both sides. I used the bone folder to crease the score lines. I cut the same side on 4 of the square so it could be folded up into a box which gives you the scrapbook in a box.

This is the box in its almost opened state.

This is the finished product..I really enjoyed putting this together. I can't wait to make one with
pictures in it to give to someone special :-)

I enjoy comments...let me know what you think....and of course you can purchase the items used for this project by clicking on the "Shop With Me" link on the right side of the page.
