The Everything ABC's Blog Hop Featuring the Letter H

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter "H". This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their # element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy

If you came from Angela Jackson-King - Krafting With Kings then you're on the right track!

My "H" stands for "Hello, Happy and Hey"..I created a few cute cards using the April Stamp of the month and the Free To Be Me paper packet.
This card was made using strips of card stock and vellum from the "Free To Be Me" paper pack. I used the scalloped border punch on the edges of the red paper. I stamped the balloon word bubble in sunset ink and gave it some dimension with the 3-D foam tape. I added one of my favorite embellishments...aqua dots

This card is made with a strip of paper, the Lagoon houndstooth washi and teal shimmer trim. I stamped the "happy" sentiment in lagoon and black ink. Pretty simple and cute!!

This card is my favorite. I love how it came out. I again used the "Free To Be Me" paper. I added the zip strip and bronze shimmer trim. Another fun embellishment is the durable triangle studs. I stamped the "Hey There" sentiment in juniper ink. The butterfly is from the Bugs and Hugs stamp set. I stamped it in black ink and colored it in using the ink on the inside lid of the ink pad and a paint brush. I tried to make the colors go from dark to light using juniper and sunset ink.

Eggcited About "Free To Be Me"...

I am absolutely loving the May "Free To Be Me" paper special for National Scrapbook Month!! I had tons of fun making these Easter Thank You cards to send to my customers who made a purchase from my CTMH site this week.

I used the Make It From Your Heart Vol 1 & Vol 2 for the designs. You can't go wrong with these idea books. You get tons of colored scrapbook layouts and card patterns for $7.95!! This card was made from Volume 2 pattern #22. I did some faux stitching around the card base. I added red shimmer trim to embellish the strip of UV coated card stock. The Easter Wishes stamp set was used for all of the cards. The images were colored using Copic markers. I added some dimension using 3-D foam tape behind the stamped image which I fussy cut. I used black ink to stamp the images and sentiments.

This card design is from Make it From Your Heart Vol. 2 pattern 24. I used smoothie from the Bakers Twine Paradise Assortment . I cut out a circle and placed behind a clear button (retired).

This design is from Make It From The Heart Vol. 1 Pattern 26. I cut the bow at 3/4 inches using the Artiste Cricut cart.

This design is from Make It From The Heart Vol. 2 Pattern 23. I used the scalloped border punch, aqua dots and a clear button to embellish.

These were really fun to make!! Get your wish list ready so you can qualify for the "Free To Be Me" paper packet in May!! More information to come.

Special Moments..Congrats!

It's joyous to make cards pertaining to specials moments in life. This card was created to congratulate a special couple on their engagement.

The base of the card is White Daisy measuring 5 x 7 inches. The gold UV coated card stock mat, flower and branches is from the May "Free to Be Me" paper special for National Scrapbooking Month. The gold polka dot vellum is also from the paper packet and is my FAV!!

I used the Damask embossing folder for the mat. You can't see it well in the picture but I followed the embossed area with my glue pen and sprinkled with glitter. It's Ohhhh Sooo pretty!!

I used the Art Philosophy cricut cart to cut the branches and the Artiste cricut cart to cut the flowers. I added bling and pearls to the center of the flowers. The flowers were outlined with stickles.
I cut a piece of the Gold card stock and used the scallop border punch on the edge. I embellished with some pearls. The sentiment is stamped in black ink.
Here is a close up of the branch. You can see the pattern on the UV coated card stock. You can also see the glitter on the embossed mat.

The card came out really nice!!

Technique Thursday...Ghost Stamping w/ Background Stamps

This is my post as part of the SOC creative team as well as I am using this as my Day 7 Embrace Your Art Challenge. (I am a little behind and need to catch up, my little princess is sick :-(

Have you tried Ghost Stamping?? It's the process of stamping with white pigment ink first and then dye ink on top of the same image slightly offset.

Here are the two cards using the same basic pieces turned vertically and horizontal.

I used black, juniper and kraft paper. I cut the kraft paper at 2 inches, black at 2 1/2 inches and juniper at 3 inches. The card base is a  4 x 5.5 inch white note card.

I took the acrylic stamp adhered it to my block and stamped the background image in White Daisy pigment ink on Kraft paper. The pigment ink took some time to dry so it was not immediate. You could use a heat gun to set the ink and make the process quicker.

Here is a up close and personal picture. I cleaned off the stamp and inked it in Juniper. I slightly offset it so you could still see the white pigment ink.

Here is the horizontal card with the stamped sentiment "All things are possible to those that believe". (my offset was a little off :-()

Here is the vertical card. I used an image and sentiment which I fussy cut and added 3-D foam tape to make it pop.

Are you Embracing Your Art?? Day 5 & 6 Creations....

I was a day behind with spending time with my family on Saturday and my Birthday today so I decided I would get my creations done before I hit the bed.

I made two quick cards...and when I say quick I mean quick..took me less than 15 mins to put together each card.

How do you use your washi? I used it in 4 strips. I love both the Lagoon Houndstooth and Gold Polka Dot washi!! I used my Artbooking cart and cut the image in White Daisy and Juniper cardstock at Real Dial size 2 inches. You can find this image on pg 58. I layered the two cuts together. 3-D foam tape  gives it some dimension. I used the Owls stamp set to stamp the sentiment in black ink. The ink did not take well to the washi so I colored the & sign in with a black marker. I accented the card with Aqua how simple this card is.

For this card I used Balloon Ride paper packet and the March SOTM Happy Place for the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped in Chocolate ink. I used Hollyhock ink to distress the edges of the patterned paper. I cut the bow at 1 inch using the Artiste cricut cart. page 55. I used a brad I had to accent the bow. I took a strip of paper and used the scallop circle punch. I left some white from the card showing along the bottom edge. Again another simple card that came out super cute.

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop Featuring The Letter G

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter 'G". This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their # element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy.

If you came from Cary Magnani - My Heart's Design then you're on the right track!
The letter "G" represents "Giggles & Grins" which is the title of my scrapbook layout.

This is a picture of my daughters during Christmas 2006. There were a lot of grins and giggles taking place during this photo shoot.

I used Laughing Lola paper as I thought it complimented the black and white picture well. The design concept came from the Make It From Your Heart Vol. 2. This is a great way to get your creativity going with the beautiful patterns this book is comprised of. If you take a look at page 11 you will see some similarities
on this page even though I made it my own.

I used the Artbooking cricut cart for the title and the heart border. I used the inside hearts from the border to embellish the page. You can find these cuts on page 80. Set your dial to 11 and cut!! So eazy peazy!! I like to say "set it and forget it"...(remember that food applies here lol). I added some Teal Shimmer Trim, Lagoon Houndstooth washi tape and Aqua Dots. I stamped the year using Lagoon ink and the Keyboard Uppercase stamp. The "Picture Perfect" sentiment comes from Instant Memories stamp set and was stamped in black ink. I did a little faux stitching across the top and bottom of the page. I love how this turned out.

Thanks you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!
This layout will serve as my creation for Day 4 of the Embrace Your Art Challenge!

Ohhhh Baby....

I recreated a card I made previously for a client as I wanted to show off the Artiste and Art Philosophy Cricut Cart!! With the April special join my team for $99.00 and select any cricut cart it is worthy of showing you what the carts can create.

This will also serve as my Day 3 creation for Embrace Your Art 30 Day Challenge.

How cute is this card?1?! I used page pg 64 to cut out this cute diaper. You will want to use the card feature. I cut out the diaper at 4 1/2 inches as well as the inside card. The bow was cut from page 55 Accent 3 which is the purple image. I cut it at 1 inch. I added a brad I had on hand. I ran the entire diaper through my Big Shot using an embossing folder. I distressed the edges of the diaper to give it more dimension.
The inside card I used the B is for Baby stamp set. I did some layering cutting the image from the Art Philosophy cricut cart at 2 1/4  and 2 1/2 inches on page 62.  I stamped in black ink and distressed with smoothie ink.

The card stock colors are SmoothieSorbet and White Daisy. I adore how it came out :-)

How Does Your Garden Grow??

For the last three weeks I have watched Tiare "Classygirl" Smith's Art Journal Pajama Party on Spreecast. I finally took the first step and purchased the supplies a week or so ago. Today I took the next step and created a page while she provided live instruction as she completed her page.

I am also using this as my Day 2 creation for Embrace Your Art!! Are you ready?? Drum roll.........

The theme is "How Does Your Garden Grow from WK 13 Journal52.
I used Gesso to prime my page. Going with the theme I decided to have some dirt which is torn paper I adhered to the page. I used several different CTMH stamp sets to complete my page, Dreams Come True, Key Moments, Blessed and Windy Day. The background was created using Reeves acrylic paint. I used a combination of blue and white to get a lighter blue and black and white to get grey. I dabbed the paint with a baby wipe to give it a textured look. I colored the flower and butterflies using a combination of Copics and Spectrum Noir markers. The images are stamped using Black, Desert Sand, Vineyard Berry, Chocolate and Whisper. I lightly sprayed the entire page with Perfect Pearl Mist in Heirloom Gold. To journal my thoughts I went around the edges writing how my garden grows.

I enjoyed this style of journaling and look forward to more pages to come!

Embrace Your Art 30 Day Challenge

For the next 30 days I am participating in the Embrace Your Art 30 Day Challenge!! The intent of the challenge is to motivate yourself to create art more often, to love your art, to try new art, to create more, to love more, to laugh more.  To simply embrace your art, whatever it may be.  I invite you to do the same. More information is available by clicking HERE

Here is my Day 1 artwork:
I love making cards however when I have to make a sympathy card it means someone has passed :-( Not my favorite thing to do.

I used the Fabulous You and Words of Comfort stamp sets. I stamped the image in chocolate ink. I colored the image using Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped in black ink. I sprayed gold mist to give it a little flair.

I did some dry embossing and added bronze shimmer trim. The card stock used is White Daisy and Cashmere.... (Sorry the color isn't showing the card is white)...It came out the way I envisioned it.

This is the inside of the card. I stamped a flower in the corner and the sentiment in the center coloring with Copics.
