Typed Note - Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring Apri's SOTM, which is "Typed Note", a set of 14 stamps.  If you have come here from Terry Ann Diack's you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants HERE.

I created two cards using the Typed Note stamp set. I wanted one to have a more masculine feel without the type writer and the other to display the type writer.

I used "Here's a little message for you" sentiment as my focus point. I started by stamping the circle using the Doodled Designs stamp set in Outdoor Denim ink. I stamped the sentiment in the center using Ruby ink. I placed a mask on top of the circle and stamped the sentiment across the White Daisy card stock mat in Whisper ink. I adhered the White Daisy mat to the Outdoor Denim card stock. I embellished it with my favorite bow from the Artiste cricut cart cut at 3/4 inches.

This card is bright and cheery!! I used the new Blossom paper pack from the SE2 available for you to purchase on April 1st. I stamped the type writer in Pear ink and put it on wobble. I stamped the sentiment in Black and Ruby ink. The heart stamp is from the Doodled Designs stamp set. I used the zip strip from the paper for the colorful striped embellishment. I took a piece of White Daisy card stock and punched it using the Scallop Border punch. I added bitty sparkles to give it some flair. I used the Artiste cricut cart to cut out the different size hearts. I adhered some directly to the mat and others are popped up using 3-D foam tape to give it dimension. I used my white gel pen to accent the hearts.

Hopscotch Happy Birthday Card

I am thinking spring with this pretty paper pack!! I took my daughter to a friends birthday party yesterday and this was the card I made.  The design was inspired by Pinterest. I love the cascading bows using the different patterned paper in the Hopscotch paper pack.
The bows were cut at 1 inch using the Artiste Cricut cart! The sentiment is from the Tagged With Love stamp set which is from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 and it is super cute!

Treats of Friendship Card

Have you heard about the CTMH Seasonal Expressions 2 (SE2)? It's volume 2 of the additional CTMH product launch that happens throughout the year.

I had the pleasure of playing with one of my new stamp sets, paper packs and a few new embellishments.

The new paper pack is called "Blossom"...I love the color combo. The stamp set is Treats of Friendship. I heat embossed the sentiment and steam coming from the tea. I paper pieced the tea cup using the patterned paper on the reversed side of the pretty paper on the front of the card.

I colored the tea tag and saucer using my Shinhan markers. The embellishments are super cool Oceanside & Coral Reef sequins along with the Glacier thick twine. You will have the opportunity to purchase these products April 1st!!

Butterfly Coloring Die Cutting Fun

I made a card previously that showed you how I used my CTMH stamps and Die from MFT. My crafty Soror said she would like to see some instructions on how it was made so here it is... Follow along with the picture tutorial and make a few beautiful cards!!

Here is the card I made this evening using butterflies....

Here is the card I made previously using the same instructions.

I used a card base, piece of black card stock cut at 5 1/2 x 4 1/4, piece of white card stock cut at 5 1/4 x 4 inches, black ink, Shinhan markers, A Thing Well Done and Holiday Tags stamp sets and MFT (My Favorite Things) "Celebration" die.

I decided I wanted to use butterflies instead of flowers this time around. I used the CTMH A Thing Well Done stamp set. I stamped the image on a piece of card stock. I fussy cut it out so I could do some masking. You can see my cut out image in the picture below.

I did some masking so I could have the butterflies overlap.

I colored in the images using my Shinhan markers. I love the vibrancy of the colors.

I took my colored card mat and placed the "Celebration" die on top. I secured the die to the mat using post it notes.

I ran it through my Big Shot.

I took the mat off the platform and this is what you have. The mat now has the word "Celebrate" cut into it however it is still attached on both sides of the card.

  Can you see the dimension?

I detached the top from the bottom of the mat by snipping the edge of the paper on both sides.

Once you snip both sides you now have two pieces of the mat. Top & bottom .

I took my black card front I cut previously and adhered it to the card base using adhesive.

I took the top of the colored mat and adhered it to the card base.

I took the bottom portion of the mat, turned it over and strategically placed 3-D foam tape on it. I lined it up with the top portion of the mat and you then have the below picture.

You can't see the dimension as well with the front view but it is there. The bottom is popped forward allowing the letters to come up off the mat.

I stamped the sentiment "Happy Birthday" from the Holiday tags stamp set. This picture shows you a little more of the dimension and the word popped up.

Here is another angle where you can see the dimension. I colored the Bitty Sparkles which were clear with the ShinHan markers which allowed some color coordination with the butterflies.

Do You Celebrate With Cake???

Each month we have the opportunity to celebrate. It could be a Birthday, Anniversary, National Crafting Month..hint hint!! How we celebrate differs but there is one thing all my celebrations MUST have...CAKE!!

In this case not flour, sugar, butter, eggs...but something just as SWEET!! A Hershey Nugget cake!!

I have to be honest I was not at all prepared to make this cake. I saw the idea several times on Pinterest but I didn't have the tools needed so I improvised :-) I found a plastic insert from the inside of one of my flower containers. I didn't know what the next layer was going to be. I found a piece of styrofoam in my basement. I cut it into a circle for layer two. I thought that would be all but you will see below I added another layer.  In total I used 30 Hershey Nuggets. The paper is CTMH Hopscotch. I cut the strips of paper to cover the nuggets at 1 x 3 inches.

I didn't feel like 2 layers was exciting so I added a 3rd layer. I wasn't sure what to use for that base. I again paced my house and it came to me...a piece of a toilet paper roll :-) I ended up cutting two circles from my large circle punch making a base for the top and bottom of the toilet paper roll so it had stability on top of the styrofoam.

I cut a bottom for the cake using my CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart. I cut the base at 6 1/2 inches. The circle and scallop edge circle cake toppers were cut from the cart as well. My favorite bow was cut from the CTMH Artiste cart at 3/4 inches.

The sticks were little craft sticks I had in my basement (there are unused treasures down there). I covered them with washi tape. I added some curly strips of paper which were cut at 1/4 inch and curled with the end of my paint brush.

The stamped sentiments are from the CTMH Artfully sent cricut collection stamp set. I really like how cute this came out! You can use this for any occasion!

What celebration do you have coming up that you would consider making a nugget cake for? Post your response in the comments.

Thank You Cards....

I am "Thankful" daily and I want to recognize others when appropriate by saying Thank You! The design concept is from Pinterest. I really liked the black and white lines paired with fun colorful stamped images. I changed out card stock color, inks and twine to make them look a little different.

It was a crafty Sunday and I hope the receiver enjoy my craftiness!

March Card Workshop Kits

I enjoy getting together with my crafty sisters each month for my card workshop!! Here are the cards we will be working on. in March.

How about some acetate window fun?? This card is so adorable. I used the CTMH envelopes and card value pack. The scallop border punch was used to give the card some flair. I added a strip of washi to the bottom of the card. The stamp set used was Have A Happy Day paired with Pear, Lagoon, Pixie and Canary ink. I added some bitty sparkles in the center of the flower.

I kept talking myself out of this stamp set. I finally broke down and bought it. Brushstrokes is super cute!! I used Pear, Lagoon, Gypsy, Smoothie and Pixie ink. I colored Bitty Sparkles with my Shinhan markers. The "thanks" sentiment is cut from the CTMH Artiste cricut cart along with the butterfly. I added some stickles to the butterfly and a bitty sparkle in the center. I added a dotted line from the sentiment to the butterfly using my journaling pen.

I adore the design of this card!! I was inspired by a card I saw by Vicki Price. I used the In The Background and Pretty Petals stamp sets. The great thing about the flowers and leaves are they were cut from the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart as the images were capable with the cricut cut!! I heat embossed the smaller flower using my CTMH Crafting Heater and Gold embossing powder. I added sequins and bitty sparkles. The bitty sparkles and small center sequin was colored using my Shinhan marker. I stamped in Black, Topiary and Desert Sand ink.
