The Everything ABC's Featuring the Letter S

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter S. This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their S element will be featured in their post.

Are you wondering what the Letter "S" represents?? "S"is for Shalana of course!! While it does represent the first letter in my name for this hop it will represent "Stair Step and Slider cards". Slider cards are my favorite since they are fun and interactive and for this hop I went outside the box and tried the stair step card.

 I used one of my favorite paper packets Laughing Lola to create this fun card. I also used Lagoon paper and the pear paper from the laughing lola card making kit.  I cut out the balloons using the Artiste cricut cart. I used some Bakers Twine to give the effect of a real ballon. I used 3D Foam tape to add dimension. I added some black shimmer trim and bitty sparkles for some flair. I used our new hostess reward  stamp set "The Party Is On" for the sentiment. This stamp is a must have so ask me how you can purchase it.

 Here is another stair step card using the "You Only Live Once" Hostess Reward stamp. I had some fun using different shades of ink on the flower using the roll technique for the two purple flowers. I used Lagoon and Gypsy ink

The next card is the slider card. I took a few pics so you can get an idea of how easy it is to put together. A mini picture tutorial if you will.

 First I decided what paper I was going to use and I went with Sarita. The card base is A2 size cut from a piece of Colonial White paper. The goldrush paper (orange) was measured at 5 1/2 x 4. The Sarita design paper was cut at 5 1/2 by 3. I positioned it with 1/4 of top of the goldrush paper showing. I added a piece of the paper strip which had the cool orange and cream colored design to the bottom. 

 I used my SU word punch to cut the track. I purchased this punch a while back just to make it easier to make slider cards. A must have punch!

 Here you can see I used the punch to make my slider track. I did not use any specific measurements I left room on both ends so the slider would stop. 

 I decided to use this cut Lion as my spinning object. He was stamped in cocoa and sunset ink using the Wild Wonders Occasions stamp set. I cut him out by hand (you don't have too his image is on the Artbooking cricut cart)...I didn't feel like getting up at that moment. I paper pieced the sunset colored face on to the cocoa colored lion using 3D Foam tape. 

 I grabbed two pennies from my purse (I can always find them in there) and put a small circle foam tape onto the center of one penny. 

 I sandwiched the two pennies together and adhered it to the lion cut with a big glue dot. 

 I turned over my card matting and used 3D foam tape to allow for the penny to slide the image back and forth on the track. Be careful not to put them too close to the track so the penny does not get stuck while in motion. 

Slide the penny onto the track. Remove the back of the 3D foam tape and adhere it to the front of the card and there you have it. I did add a few more embellishments to the front of the card. I used the stamp from "B is for Baby" and inked in sunset and outdoor denim. I added a piece of Bakers Twine as well. I just love how it came out.
