Anything Goes...SOC Bloggers Challenge

Have you heard of SOC (Scraps of Color)? If not click here to check out the blog. There is a fun "Anything Goes" challenge going on where you can share a link to your favorite scrapbook layout, card or altered/mixed media item.

I decided to have a little, well ALOT of fun and continue working on my Christmas layouts using this layout to submit for the challenge. The pictures are reflective of a fun night at a PTO event with my girls. They love the camera and these pictures capture their beautiful smiles.

I used card stock and patterned paper from the Sparkle & Shine (retired special) paper packet. I always tend to play with my Artbooking cricut cart. I cut out the patterned green circle overlay with the dial size set at 8.

Fake stitching is always fun so I added a little bit of - - - and - - -!! I love our washi tape so I put a few strips here and there. The border is made with red shimmer trim. I absolutely love shimmer trim!!! I went to my stash to see if I had coordinating Sparkle & Shine dimensional elements available.  I utilized the 3 Christmas trees, which I staggered slightly off to the side of one another and the "Noel" pendants. I like to use the negative space from the cricut cuts thus placing circles from the overlay in the four corners of the paper. I distressed the edges of the card stock with Juniper ink. Lastly I found a nice quote by an unknown author that reads "May peace be your gift at Christmas and your blessings all year through." which I had wrote as my journaling spot.
Here is an up close look at the christmas trees. I really like how adding the glitter made them pop off the page. Do you always journal? I try to so I don't forget what was happening at that moment in time. Journaling spots are always fun. When I am unsure what to write the internet is a great tool to look up quotes, poems, titles etc.
