This was most definitely a challenge but I was up for it!! So why was it challenging you maybe asking yourself? I have absolutely no crafting supplies related to the Orient. I decided to take a look at how to fold a Kimono using patterned paper and there you have it....the rest is history!!
Why not "Celebrate" Chinese New Year which is the reason I liked this title. I used the Card Chatter Birthday stamp set. I completed my Kimono fold using For Always paper. I wanted to use lanterns across the top but I didn't have any lanterns on any of my cricut carts so I got creative!! My CTMH Artiste cart has tons of images (700 to be exact!!) I saw a spool for thread and I cut what would be the thread on the spool at 1 inch and my lanterns were created. I used a black gel pen to add some flair to the lanterns and placed them on top of the Bakers Twine. I cut the card so it is actually shorter in front compared to the back card base and used my slate polka dot washi tape to fill the gap. You can see it on the card laying flat below. I had some fun with my embossing folder giving the background card stock some texture. I double matted the sentiment "Celebrate" and stamped it in Grey Wool and Black Ink.
I really like how it came out and enjoyed the challenge!! Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!!
